Dear Finance & Administrative Leaders, 

As you know, UCR is currently undergoing a financial system replacement, referred to as Impact23. The deployment of these new applications means users need guidance on how to use them to perform key business processes. 

To supplement available training resources, the Impact23 project team has also invested in two digital adoption platforms (DAPs): Oracle Guided Learning and WalkMe. These DAPs will help financial application users navigate complex tasks and workflows by providing on-screen step-by-step instructions, pop-up hints, and interactive walkthroughs. 

How do these DAPs work?

Both Oracle Guided Learning and WalkMe use browser extensions that identify when a user is in one of the pre-authorized systems and loads the guidance for that system on the screen.

Please note that guidance must be published in order for a user to see it in the system. This email is a proactive request to ensure you have the browser extension installed so that you can see guidance once it is published and available.  

Guidance for WalkMe Browser Extension 

If your team currently uses devices that are managed by ITS or managed by a distributed campus IT partner, the browser extensions will be automatically pushed to your device. You do not need to take any action.  

Please note that distributed IT partners have been provided guidance on how to deploy to your device. Please reach out to them if you do not see WalkMe installed on your browser. 

If your team uses non-managed devices and team members are able to successfully download and install applications without help from IT, your team will need to install the browser extension themselves by following the instructions provided in this KB article (KB0012123).

Guidance for Oracle Guided Learning

We are currently working with our partners in BFS to get the deployment package and instructions for Oracle Guided Learning. However, units can expect similar guidance based on whether the user is on a managed or non-managed device. Please stay tuned for guidance.

In which systems will these DAPs offer user guidance?

Guidance via Oracle Guided Learning will be available in the Oracle financial systems. Guidance via WalkMe will be available in the ServiceNow Work Order system, Google Looker, and Non-Salary Cost Transfer application.  

Please refer to the Impact23 website for information about guidance availability, as this website contains the most up-to-date information on Imapct23 deployment and support resources.
