Dear Campus Community,
The Financial System Steering Committee is pleased to officially announce UC Riverside’s (UCR) Impact23 Program. Impact23 is the financial system replacement effort that will deploy a minimally customized, configuration-driven financial system that enables future upgradeability, while delivering impactful benefits to campus users. This multi-year initiative will transform the way UCR transacts, develops budgets, tracks spending/revenue, and performs financial reporting. Over the next 18 months, Impact23 will support the campus-wide implementation of a comprehensive suite of cloud-based solutions: Concur, Kuali, and Oracle.
- Concur Travel and Expense: provides an automated, end-to-end, customer-focused travel and expense solution (expected deployment June 2022).
- Kuali Sponsored Programs: offers a research solution for pre-award (expected deployment July 2023).
- Oracle: delivers financial applications designed to automate and streamline financial management and budget processes. This system has become a standard in the UC system (deployment July 2023).
A Modern, Responsive System
Impact23 will collaborate with stakeholders across the entire campus to deliver improved financial applications and reporting through integrated systems that are based on industry-best business practices. In this regard, we have organized and structured an internal program team to contribute to the overall objectives by partnering with Deloitte and Huron Consulting to provide strategic program leadership and innovation to ensure our transformation is successful. We are engaging UC campuses and other universities that have implemented the Oracle system to understand lessons learned to improve our outcomes. Additionally, a Change Readiness Assessment survey is being deployed to provide awareness and adoption based on lessons learned and to invoke campus feedback.
The governance of an initiative of this kind requires an intentional framework and definition of key criteria to drive program activities and ensure goals are met. The guiding principles focus on:
- Delivering User Value - Making sure the new solution has the key features that improve UCR's financial management.
- Maintaining Program Quality - Ensuring that the new solutions are delivered on time and as designed.
- Streamlining Business Processes - Aligning campus business processes to leading best practices to improve compliance and efficiency.
We look forward to providing you with further information and collaborating with the campus. Please register to attend our first Impact23 Town Hall information session on February 16, 2022.
