Dear Colleagues, 

Starting July 1, 2023, with the launch of our new financial system, UCR's accounting structures and practices will use nine (9) Chart of Accounts (COA) segments with a change in the order of segments to align with UC systemwide requirements and enable better reporting. Individuals using the current FAU structure and values to perform their duties must understand the new COA chart fields and their intended use. As a follow-up to the Chart of Accounts Town Hall presentation, please join us Thursday, October 19th, from at 10:00 - 10:30 am for the next Round Table Discussion on chart fields Flex 1 & 2.

What is a Round Table Discussion? An informal, 30-minute conversation around a specific topic with Impact23 Workgroup members and campus staff to build awareness and educate people throughout the transition to new Impact23 systems. Participants can ask questions about the topic, including but not limited to the following:

  1. The thought process behind a design decision
  2. The impacts or benefits of a new process or report
  3. How ORGs/departments can best embrace or prepare for the change
  4. The risks/system errors associated with, in this case, an incorrect chart field entry


We’ll also ask questions of our participants to learn more about their perspectives and departmental needs. If you did not have the chance to attend the last round table, please watch the posted recording: Round Table Discussion - COA Project & Oracle PPM Projects.

Note: UCR's new COA will be one of the most significant changes associated with the new financial system implementation. It will also impact any individual who uses the current FAU structure to perform their duties.
